To get an accurate report of what will change if you activate a new catalog in an existing subscription, compare the new catalog to all active items in the same subscription.

The results returned in the comparison should be taken in the context of which catalogs you compare and if they are incremental load or full load catalogs.

• You can select any catalog, incremental or full, and compare it against all active catalog items in a subscription. The comparison report will show the difference between the items in the catalog you picked and the combined contents of all of the full and incremental catalogs in that subscription.
• You can compare two incremental load catalogs in the same subscription. The comparison report will display the difference between the two incremental load catalogs ONLY and will ignore any items in the full or any other incremental load catalogs.
• When you compare any catalog against another catalog directly by choosing each on the Compare Versions screen, you are comparing the catalog files you've chosen only, not the combined contents of every active catalog in the subscription. For example, if a subscription contains an activated full load catalog and one activated incremental load catalog, you can compare a new incremental load catalog to the full load catalog only and the comparison report will ignore the first incremental catalog.
