Tips   Create partitioned commodity code maps

New partitioned commodity code map entries are created in the same partition as your login partition.

A partitioned commodity code map entry maps a commodity code in the system domain to the partitioned commodity code you are working with and includes default accounting information (an account type and account) so that users do not have to specify this information.

If a commodity code does not have a direct mapping to a partitioned commodity code, the system walks up the commodity code parent chain to look for a mapping. In this way you can map a parent commodity code and its children will also use that mapping.

When you click Save, your changes are saved to the database. Objects (such as users, roles, and commodity codes) with the Adapter Source set to ManuallyMaintained are maintained within your Ariba Spend Management application and not updated by integration events. Objects with the Adapter Source not set to ManuallyMaintained can be overwritten or deleted by integration events. For more information, see About the adapter source.
