Tips   Edit an edit rule
Edit rules determine whether users can modify documents that have already been submitted for approval. For example, when a user changes a document after it has been submitted, the edit rule determines whether the user's changes require reapproval.

To display the Rule Set - Edit Edit Rule screen to modify an edit rule for a rule set, click the Edit button in the Edit Rule section of the Rule Set - Create Rule Set screen or the Rule Set - Edit Rule Set screen.

 
  1. Modify the type of the edit rule.
  2. Modify the code of the edit rule. Click Check Syntax to verify the syntax and correct errors. The check is limited to formal syntax; it does not check the validity or existence of functions contained in the rule or other language constructs.
  3. Select the required permission a user must have to be able to view the rule in the Rule Editor. By default, new rules are assigned the RuleEditor permission.
  4. When you are done modifying the rule, click OK to save your changes and return to the previous screen, or click Cancel to return without saving the changes.
