Tips   Log in

Your Ariba Buyer system administrator can add links to this screen that you can click to display news, articles, or other information without first logging in.

Once logged in, if you are inactive in Ariba Buyer for a given period of time, as configured by your company, Ariba Buyer displays a logout warning and begins a logout countdown. To continue working, click Cancel Logout before the countdown ends. To log out, click Logout or wait for the countdown to end, at which point you are logged out automatically.

Screen details

The Log in screen is displayed when you access Ariba Buyer.

  1. Enter your assigned user name and password.
  2. From the Go to pull-down menu, if enabled by your company, select a screen to display directly after you log in for this session, if you do not want to display the Home page by default. For example, you can choose to go directly to the status screen on which you work with requests that require your approval.

If you have the necessary system administrator permission, you can select Administrator from the Go to list and display Ariba Buyer Administrator. Alternatively, you can log into Ariba Buyer and then click Administrator in the Explore section of the Navigation Panel on the Ariba Buyer Home page. To learn more about using Ariba Buyer Administrator, see the online help in Ariba Buyer Administrator.

  3. Click Login. You are asked to select a partition and then the Home page or the specified product screen is displayed.

If you log in as a system administrator, the partition you select determines the objects you can edit in Ariba Buyer Administrator. You can edit objects only in the login partition; you have read-only access to objects in other partitions. You can also access integration events, scheduled tasks, and rules in all partitions. To ensure you have access to all catalog administration tasks, select the Supplier Direct partition.
