If your company has enabled multi-currency reporting, values in reports
are displayed in your default currency and in the transaction currency.
Whenever possible, values are calculated using historical conversion
rates; otherwise, current conversion rates are used. If your company
has also enabled euro-equivalent reporting, multiple columns of currency
data are displayed.
If an “X” icon is displayed instead of data, ask the system administrator
to review the Ariba Buyer server log file and resolve the problem. Then
rerun the report.
To ensure acceptable system performance, the Ariba Buyer system administrator
can limit the number of rows that reports can contain. If your report
returns results that exceed the limit, a warning is displayed that the
report has been truncated. For HTML and Excel formats, the warning appears
at the top of the report; for CSV format, the warning appears at the
end of the report. To resolve the problem, refine the filters and run
the report again.
By default, only commodity
codes are displayed in reports. If your system is configured to
support it, partitioned
commodity code are also displayed. See your system administrator
for more information.

You can display reports in these formats:
HTML format |
The report appears in a separate browser window. Use the browser
to save the report data to disk as an HTML file. If your company
uses the reporting HTML style sheet, the data might be organized
into levels that you can show and hide, as necessary. Click a
level button (such as Cost Center) to change the level of detail
displayed. If you save the report as an HTML file, all levels
of data are saved and can be displayed. If you print the report,
only the levels currently displayed are printed.
To avoid data truncation during printing, it's recommended to
change the page setup to landscape page orientation before printing.
To ensure level headings print with optimal emphasis, turn on
printing of background colors and images. To do so using Internet
Explorer, click Tools > Internet Options and on the
Advanced Tab select Print background colors and images.
If you're using Netscape Navigator, click File > Page Setup
or click Page Setup from print preview, and then click
Print Background (colors and images) on the Format &
Options tab.
|
Excel format |
The report appears as an Excel spreadsheet
in a separate browser window. You can sort, format, and perform
other Excel operations on the data. Use the browser to save the
report data to disk as an Excel workbook file (.xls), HTML file,
or other available file type. This format is available only if your
company has enabled it. |
CSV format |
If you are using Internet Explorer,
you are asked to download the report as a CSV file to disk, or to
open the CSV file. If you are using Netscape Navigator, the Unknown
File Type dialog is displayed: pick an application to use to view
the CSV file, or save the file to disk. |
Report data is displayed in a bar graph or pie chart:
Bar graphs |
Categories are displayed vertically, with one bar for each category
value. For example, in the Supplier Detail report, each supplier
is represented by a bar in the graph. The category name is listed
on the X-axis, and numeric or monetary values are listed on the
Y-axis. Graphs are limited to 16 unique colors. If a graph contains
more than 16 categories, colors are repeated.
|
Pie charts |
Each slice of the pie
represents a different category value. For example, in the Requisition
Detail report, each requisition is represented as a slice of the
pie. The size of the slices varies, depending on a requisition's
value relative to the other requisitions. A legend lists the individual
requisition numbers. |
The system administrator sets the maximum number of category values
that can be displayed in any graph. If the category values in your report
exceed the limit, the surplus values are displayed as other.
To ensure a graph remains readable, limit the number of categories to
a maximum of nine labels. You can truncate category names if they are
too long to display in the graph area.
