Tips   Create a new map entry

Each external value must be unique, therefore, you cannot enter a value that already exists in another mapping. The internal value is not unique, so a value can be mapped multiple times. For example, you can map the external values 0001 and 0002 to the internal value of Pens.

If you are unable to save after entering values, verify whether the external value you entered already exists. If you need to change the mapping for the existing value, delete the old value first and then create a new mapping with the value.

Screen details

To display the Maps - Create New Entry screen, click Create New in the Currency, Units of Measure (UOM), and Units Of Measure (CIF) Maps - Search screens.

  1. Select an adapter source:
    • To add the new entry to the existing map, choose an existing file name. Note that when integration events are run that update map files, your edits to the map may be removed.
    • To create a new entry outside of the existing map file, choose ManuallyMaintained. A manually maintained entry will not be affected by integration events that reload maps. Note that manually maintained entries will not be exported along with the existing map file when you export a map.
  2. Enter an external value.
  3. Choose an existing internal value. In some cases, this field is pre-populated.
  4. Click Save to save the new entry, or Cancel to return to the previous screen without saving the entry.
