If you have configured reports for dual currency display, and choose CSV for the report format when running a report, you may see a question mark (?) instead of the euro symbol (E) in the resulting report output. This can occur if your workstation is not set for UTF8 encoding, or if the application you use to view the report does not support UTF8 encoding.

To display the euro symbol in CSV reports: edit config/Parameters.table and set System.Reports.ShowCurrencyPrefixSuffixInCSV to false. This setting suppresses generation of the currency prefix and suffixes (when dual currency is set). Instead, two columns are added to the report: one that indicates the currency, and one that shows the amount in euro. This format allows you to work more easily with the currency values.

Alternatively, you can do one of the following:

  • Open the report on a workstation that is set for UTF8 encoding. The default encoding is ISO-8859-1, but you can edit config/Parameters.table and set Application.Reports.CSVReportsCharset = UTF-8, to set UTF8 encoding. Some applications, such as Microsoft Excel, use the workstation's encoding to display the euro symbol.
  • Open the report using an application in which it's possible to set UTF8 encoding.

Using these methods, the euro symbol displays as “E146.33EUR”.
