Expense report transactions that occurred in EMU currencies before January 1, 2002, and purchase order line items that were already pushed to an ERP system remain in their original EMU currencies for historical purposes. The system administrator converts in-process approvables based on specific criteria that meet European Union (EU) conversion requirements.

On January 1, 2002, most member countries of the European Monetary Union (EMU), such as Germany and France, began using the euro as their single (base) currency. For new conversions that affect Ariba Buyer users, the Ariba Buyer system administrator must complete the euro conversion process to take advantage of euro functionality. For example, the system administrator sets EMU currency groups and end dates, validates currency values before and after conversion, runs special scheduled tasks to convert currency objects, and updates the system configuration to enable dual currency display in Ariba Buyer and in reports (to display EMU currencies and their euro equivalents). |
