Administrative permissions
This permission Authorizes users to
AllowNullPasswordWizardCredentialEmail

Receive an email notification message (Notification 10) when a new user logs in to the Password Entry Wizard to set an initial password and uses a null credential as verification. This permission applies only in configurations that use organic password growth to allow users to set their own new passwords after supplying appropriate credentials. This permission is typically assigned to system administrators.

CatalogImportFailedEmail

Receive an email notification message Notification 15 when a catalog load fails and receive Notification 73 when the AribaNetworkFullSubscriptionSync scheduled task reports that an Ariba SN subscription was deleted.

CatalogManager

Receive the following notifications:

  • Notification 49 when the MappingLog log listener detects error messages pertaining to PunchOut items with incorrectly mapped commodity codes.
  • Notification 60 when the Supplier Manager has added an unknown supplier profile required to load a new catalog from Ariba SN, and the supplier remains unknown after a specified time limit has passed.
  • Notification 61 when the Supplier Manager has resolved an unknown supplier by creating a partitioned supplier profile required to load a new catalog from Ariba SN.

Users with this permission can also access the Ariba Buyer Administrator (ABA) Catalog Manager to modify catalog configurations and can access the Global Catalog reports. When this permission is assigned in conjunction with the ConfigurationFiles permission, users can perform other tasks using ABA, such as edit catalog hierarchies or rebuild catalog indexes.

CategoryCatalogTypeImpactReport Receive notification messages when a new version of a catalog type is uploaded that might affect existing categories that use that type.
CategoryManager Access the Category Definition Manager in Ariba Buyer Administrator to manage category definitions.
ConfigurationFiles Access all files in the config and logs directories using Ariba Buyer Administrator. Users with this permission can also edit all rules, regardless of other permissions. The ConfigurationFiles permission is also used in combination with other permissions to allow administrative users access to various Ariba Buyer Administrator functions.
CreateCategory Create new category definitions in the Category Definition Manager in Ariba Buyer Administrator.
EditCategory Edit any category definition in the Category Definition Manager in Ariba Buyer Administrator. By default, only users who are specified as a category owner in a particular category definition can edit that category definition.
ExpenseManager Perform Travel & Expense related tasks in Ariba Buyer Administrator such as, editing and reloading expense guidelines and running scheduled tasks.
GeneratedCatalogSubscription View generated subscriptions in Ariba Buyer Administrator. Generated subscriptions are created from Contract Requests for non-catalog items or procurement category definitions. This permission is also included in the Catalog Manager, Contract Manager, and Category Manager roles.
KitManager Create, edit, and delete catalog kits in the Catalog Manager in Ariba Buyer Administrator. This permission also allows the user to receive an email notification message (Notification 82) when one or more catalog items bundled in a catalog kit becomes inactive.
RuleEditor View and edit business rules using Ariba Buyer Administrator.
ServerMonitor Run all scheduled tasks and integration events from Ariba Buyer Administrator, regardless of other permissions. Users can also access all options for the servermonitor command, such as those that allow users to run integration events, list users, and disconnect users.
SupplierManager

Edit supplier profile information using Ariba Buyer Administrator.

Use the Supplier Manager in Ariba Buyer Administrator to edit supplier profile information. Users with this permission receive Notification 59 when an Ariba SN catalog refers to a supplier that is not defined in Ariba Buyer.

SystemAdministrator Receive notification messages from the CleanDatabaseLog and CleanAuditDatabaseLog scheduled tasks, but only when another recipient cannot be found. Normally, such messages are sent to users who have the permission defined in the scheduled task configuration file.
TimeSheetManager Create, edit, and submit time sheets for yourself or for users with the CreateTimeSheet permission.
Workforce Manager Access the Workforce Manager in Ariba Buyer Administrator to manage contractors and run related scheduled tasks.
