The Status of a request indicates how far a request has come through the approval process, and who needs to take action next.

To cancel a spot purchase sourcing request (SR), withdraw and delete the original purchase request. The status of the SR changes to Canceling. Ariba Contract Compliance sends a cancel message to Ariba Enterprise Sourcing to cancel sourcing transactions, and the SR is unlinked from the corresponding line item in the original purchase request. The status changes from Canceling to Canceled when Ariba Contract Compliance has successfully sent the cancellation message to Ariba Enterprise Sourcing.

To cancel an SR or a contract sourcing request (CSR), click Cancel Sourcing on the Request Details screen. The status of the request changes to Canceling. The status changes from Canceling to Canceled when Ariba Contract Compliance has successfully sent a cancellation message to Ariba Enterprise Sourcing. This status transition is usually immediate.
