Tax accrual payment requests track payments owed to the government, as underpaid taxes. For more information about tax accrual payments, see the Ariba Invoice Guide.

If your company has configured Ariba Invoice to support accrual accounting, you can use payment documents to track tax accrual payments. These payments are displayed on the Payments tab of the Invoice Reconciliation (IR) document. Your company can configure exceptions to occur when the tax amount specified in an invoice line item is less than the actual calculated tax. For example, if the vendor does not record tax at the point of sale or charges less tax than applicable, the tax amount on the invoice might differ from the calculated tax amount and result in an Under Tax Variance exception. Ariba Invoice recognizes the difference in tax amounts as an accrued tax amount. When you dispute the Under Tax Variance exception, Ariba Invoice creates a separate payment request document to accumulate and track the accrued tax amounts. |
