Before importing and managing type definition files, you must make
any changes to each type file manually in a editor outside of Ariba
Buyer Administrator.
Procurement category types appear in Ariba Buyer Administrator only
if the Ariba Category Procurement module is installed. For more information
about category types, see the Ariba Category Procurement Guide.
Updating type definitions can have serious impact on your Ariba Buyer
configuration and that you should only update type definitions infrequently
and when few users are using Ariba Buyer. For more information on type
management, see the Ariba Buyer Catalog Guide.
