The exceptions each user sees and takes action on depends on the user's permissions. The main reconcile and approve screens contain radio buttons that allow the user to choose to display all exceptions or only exceptions the user has permissions to take an action on.

An invoice exception is a discrepancy between the invoice and its associated order or receipt. Ariba Buyer's default configuration includes the following standard set of invoice exception types:

• Header invoice exceptions
• Line item invoice exceptions
