Tips   About the time sheet process

A time sheet is used to track the hours a contractor works. The hiring company uses the time sheet to verify hours worked. The supplier uses the time sheet to pay the contractor for the hours worked and can use it to submit an invoice back to the hiring company.

Once you create a time sheet, you can track its status and see where it is in the approval flow.

Time sheets enable contractors to submit the hours they worked for payment.

Time sheets involve these basic steps (see the process flow diagram for a detailed description of the process):

  1. A contractor creates a time sheet (or another person, known as the preparer, creates the time sheet on behalf of the contractor) and submits it for approval. Ariba Buyer notifies designated approvers that a time sheet is waiting for their approval.
  2. Approvers approve or deny the time sheet:
    • If approved, the time sheet is sent to the supplier for review, which then pays the contractor and sends an invoice to the hiring company.
    • If denied, the contractor can edit and resubmit the time sheet.
