To display the My Audit Activity link in the Command Bar, the DatabaseLog log listener must be enabled in the config/Parameters.table file, and the Categories parameter must include the audit log category.

In the default configuration, the permissions required to view database audit activity are defined in the workspace configuration files. Permissions can be customized. For more information, see the Ariba Buyer Administrator Customization Guide.

Screen details

To display the My Database Audit Activity screen, click My Audit Activity in the Command Bar.

  1. Search the database log for activity you performed in the audit log category, which monitors actions performed in your application's Administrator user interface and changes made using the command-line administration tool (for example, the servermonitor command in Ariba Buyer). By default, the list is empty.
    • To view all your audit log messages in the database, click List All.
    • To sort search results by date, your logon session ID, or the description (log message text), click a column header. Click the header again to change the sort order, as indicated by the arrow.
    • If available, click the Table Options icon, located in the row above the column headers, to display commands that control the display of data in the table. For example, you can hide or show columns of data; group data; or export data to Excel.
  2. Filter log messages by specifying a search filter and then clicking Search or pressing the Enter key. Search fields are case-insensitive and you can enter all or part of a name.
    • To search the text of log messages, enter a description keyword as a search filter. A description keyword can be any text in bold in the text of a log message. For example, to filter the list for actions performed on behalf of any user, enter user. To filter the list for actions performed on behalf of a specific user, enter the user's unique name (login user name).
    • To search for actions performed on a specific date, make a selection from the pull-down menu. To search for actions performed on a specific logical node, enter nodename, where nodename is the name of a logical node. To search for actions performed during a specific logon session, enter the logon session ID.
    • To add or remove search filters, click Add/Remove Search Filters, and then select check boxes for the search filters you want to add, or deselect the ones you want to remove. The search filters you select may also affect the search filters for the DB Log Activity, DB Audit Activity, and My Log Activity tasks.
  3. In Ariba Buyer, list objects (such as users, roles, and PCards) that you have created or edited using Ariba Buyer Administrator and that have fields whose source of truth is an external system. You can use the list to to help you update the corresponding data on the external system to match your changes in Ariba Buyer. In this way, the next time you run an integration event to reload this data, your changes to these objects will not be overwritten or deleted.
    • To search for actions performed on objects with fields whose source of truth is an external system, in the description keyword search filter, enter objectname:external, where objectname is the name of an object, such as user, role, or PCard. For example, enter user:external. To search for any object, enter :external.
    • To search for actions performed on objects with fields whose source of truth is Ariba Buyer (that is, whose adapter source is set to ManuallyMaintained), in the description keyword search filter, enter objectname:ariba, where objectname is the name of an object, such as user, role, or PCard. For example, enter user:ariba. To search for any object, enter :ariba or enter manuallymaintained.
