Tips   Activate catalogs

All errors in supplier catalogs must be fixed before they can be activated. Catalogs that cannot be activated or deactivated for any reason are displayed on this screen as unavailable.

If multiple versions of the same subscription are selected, only the most recently imported version is activated.

Activate new versions of supplier catalogs to keep the Ariba Buyer product catalog updated with changes in items. For more information, see the Ariba Buyer Catalog Guide.

Screen details

To display the Activate Catalogs screen, click Catalogs in the Catalog Manager home page, select one or more check boxes and then click Activate.

  1. Review one or more catalog versions you have selected to activate:
    • To view details about a supplier, click a link in the From Supplier column.
    • To view all versions of the supplier catalog, click a link in the Catalog Subscription Name column.
    • To view any errors and warnings, click a catalog's link in the Version column.
    • To review the status history of the supplier catalog, click a catalog's link in the Status column.
    • To view the content of a supplier catalog, click the link in the # of Items column.
    • To view catalogs that contain errors or require attention, click any red exclamation mark.
    • If available, click the Table Options icon, located in the row above the column headers, to display commands that control the display of data in the table. For example, you can hide or show columns of data, group data, or export data to Excel.
  2. Verify the catalogs you want to activate are selected and click Activate to activate the supplier catalogs, making their contents available in the Ariba Buyer product catalog for users to order or search.
    • Activating an incremental load catalog on top of an activated full load catalog of the same subscription and any number of incremental load catalogs, activates all the items in all the incremental and full load catalogs.
    • Activating a full load catalog on an existing subscription containing incremental load catalogs will deactivate all the previous versions of the catalog and activate only the items in the last full load catalog.
    • If you are reactivating catalogs after enabling a new type definition, be sure to activate the catalogs in the same order that they were activated before you enabled the type. You must activate catalogs one at a time to control the order they are activated.
  3. Click Catalog Home to return to the Catalogs screen.
