If you need to make changes to a kit, it is convenient to edit the existing kit. However, you cannot editing kits that have been sent for approval because approval cannot be sent twice for the same kit. Therefore, to edit a kit that was sent for approval, you copy the kit (keeping the supplier and supplier part number the same) make edits to the other fields and save the new kit. Keeping the same supplier and supplier part number creates a second version of the same kit. When the new version is approved and activated, the old version is retired. Note: Do not change the supplier and supplier part number or the new kit will not be recognized as a new version of the original kit.
